We are thrilled to announce that Neurosom has been selected to pitch at the MedTech Innovator West Coast Pitch Event this March 5th and 6th! We’re excited to showcase our innovation in medtech and share how we’re making an impact. Viral Sheth, COO, will speak about our innovative Sleep WISP technology at the largest accelerator for medical device companies. Looking forward to connecting with judges, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs. See you there!
BEL recently supported groundbreaking research using its 280-channel Whole Head EEG system
BEL recently supported groundbreaking research using its 280-channel Whole Head EEG system. Drs. Muthuraman Muthuraman & Manuel Bange, along with BEL's Chief Operating Officer, Viral Sheth, visited Dr. Simon Little’s Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Center in San Francisco to collect multimodal wireless HD EEG, EMG, ECG data from over a dozen Parkinson’s disease patients. These patients, equipped with the latest bi-directional DBS system and intracranial electrodes, participated in studies to better understand the circuits and signals underlying their symptoms.
BEL submits NEAT Sleep Staging Software for 510(k) Clearance
Following the success of receiving FDA 510(k) clearance for its SOURCERER source estimation software in October 2024, BEL submitted its NEAT sleep staging software for FDA review and approval for 510(k) clearance. NEAT is an innovative medical device software application that uses machine learning to streamline identification of different sleep stages post EEG-acquisition.
"HUMAN DIGITAL TWIN IN THE MILITARY: Findings and Perspective."
NATO: "HUMAN DIGITAL TWIN IN THE MILITARY: Findings and Perspective." During this conference Dec. 10-12 in Orlando, Florida, BEL and Neurosom Chief Scientist Dr. Phan Luu will present a paper titled, "Electrocortical Neuromorphic Augmented Cognition Transmission (ENACT) for Human Digital Twin Communication". Dr. Luu will propose a new technology (ENACT) that draws on current HD EEG and Individual Head Model brain mapping, Machine Learning sleep staging classification, Transcranial Electrical Stimulation (TES), and current and future AI digital twin technologies to provide augmented cognitive human performance during military operations.
BEL and Neurosom Chief Science Officer, Dr. Phan Luu, PhD, will be presenting a talk at the UK Royal Society Meeting in London
BEL and Neurosom Chief Science Officer, Dr. Phan Luu, PhD, will be presenting a talk "Transcranial Electrical Stimulation (TES) targeting limbic cortex increases the duration of human deep sleep" at the UK Royal Society Meeting in London on November 26th. (10:30-10:50 am ET) Dr. Luu's talk will present evidence that slow-wave sleep can be enhanced using BEL's Sleep WISP - a portable, user-friendly device deployed in the home. The ability to selectively enhance slow-wave sleep has significant health implications. The lecture is free to attend online but participants must register ahead of time.
Neurosom featured at the MedTech Minis
Neurosom's Chief Operating and Strategy Officer Viral Sheth joined Health Tech Strategies CEO Suzy Engwall for an episode of "Med Tech Minis" to chat about the progress Neurosom has made with Sleep Therapy, our clinical trial, and a hint about AI integration that will be a big story for us in 2025.
BEL is pleased to partner with Prof. Dr. Muthuraman Muthuraman, at the Night of Biosignals.
As part of a larger conference organized by the Biosignals Technical Committee of Germany. As part of a lecture on biomedical and electrophysiological movement analysis, our Chief Operating and Strategy Officer, Viral Sheth, will give a talk titled Advancing Neurotechnology: Shaping the Future of Sleep and Brain Health with BEL's EEG System One and Sleep WISP, on November 15, 10:30am PT, which will be streamed live from Augsburg, Germany.
SOURCERER is now FDA cleared for clinical use
BEL receives FDA 510(k) clearance for SOURCERER source estimation software. “SOURCERER is a next generation software that combines an elegant and easy user interface with a faster analysis, precise results, and a managed workflow. As a stand alone software tool, or seamlessly integrated with BEL EEG System One and FLOW product EcoSystem, SOURCERER is an indispensable part of the source estimation toolkit,” adds Dr. Phan Luu, Chief Scientific Officer.
2024 DACH
Thank you to our distributor @Neurolite for featuring BEL products at the 2024 DACH annual congress earlier this month, the German-Austrian-Swiss working group on epilepsy. The BEL EEG System One and now FDA 510(k) cleared SOURCERER source estimation software work together seamlessly to provide a complete source estimation toolkit.
Synchronizing Slow Oscillations for Extending Deep Sleep
BEL's CEO, Dr. Don Tucker, gives a talk to the Haghayegh laboratory in anesthesiology at Harvard/MGH about BEL's Research Program to understand the mechanisms of Slow Oscillation.
How Neurosom’s Virtual Sleep Coach Can Improve Sleep, Promote Longevity and Contribute to Affordable Sleep Therapy.
Dr. Roma Shusterman had a theory. The Chief Technology Officer at Neurosom™, Inc., thought he could better harness AI, or the Large Language Model (LLMs), than previously done, to create an effective sleep therapist – despite current opinions that AI wasn’t ready to be used for medical advice. “Can AI Solve Sleep?” is a free webinar which introduces the Neurosom™ Virtual Sleep Coach.
Join us as Dr. Roma Shusterman, our Chief Technology Officer, explains how our sleep coach provides the best advice on getting a good night's rest. The AI technology is integrated with our Neurosom Sleep Therapy system to introduce a complete reset for those struggling with sleep.
The brain makes a lot of waste. Now scientists think they know where it goes
About 170 billion cells are in the brain, and as they go about their regular tasks, they produce waste — a lot of it. To stay healthy, the brain needs to wash away all that debris. But how exactly it does this has remained a mystery.
This device may nudge your brain into deep sleep
The goal is not just a more restful slumber. Groundbreaking discoveries made in the past decade have revealed that the brain has a power-washing system that switches into high gear during deep sleep, flushing away harmful waste. This nightly cleanup is part of the restorative power of sleep and revives concentration, memory and motor skills.
Focal limbic sources create the large slow oscillations of the EEG in human deep sleep
Initial observations with the human electroencephalogram (EEG) have interpreted slow oscillations (SOs) of the EEG during deep sleep (N3) as reflecting widespread surface-negative traveling waves that originate in frontal regions and propagate across the neocortex.
Transcranial Electrical Stimulation targeting limbic cortex increases the duration of human deep sleep
Researchers have proposed that impaired sleep may be a causal link in the progression from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Several recent findings suggest that enhancing deep sleep (N3) may improve neurological health in persons with MCI, and buffer the risk for AD.
